Embedded Systems Engineer

You will work in close collaboration with our team of hardware and software engineers over the full design life-cycle; contributing your ideas and undertaking creative problem-solving from product concept to development, validation to manufacture and market release.
This is a full time position based in Auckland.
Salary offered will be between $90k and $120k per year, and will be determined based on your level of experience.
About You
You need to have relevant tertiary qualification in Electronics, Computer Science, or Mechatronics Engineering. A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred for this role.
To be suitable for this role, you will ideally be able to demonstrate skills and experience outlined below:
- A good understanding of modern Microcontrollers such as ARM Cortex, and previous embedded software development experience.
- The ability to read and understand schematic drawings and PCB layouts.
- PCB design experience is not a requirement for this role but would be an advantage.
- The ability to use in-circuit debuggers (e.g. JTAG) for fault finding.
- An understanding of various MCU peripherals such as Timers, ADC, DAC, etc.
- An understanding of wired and wireless communication protocols (e.g. UART, SPI, BLE, etc.)
- Understanding of Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
- Understanding of analog and digital signal processing would be an advantage.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment such as DMMs, Oscilloscopes, logic analyzers to analyze signals in a circuit.
- Competency in computing technology and the ability to solve computer-related issues, including troubleshooting.
- Competency in C/C++ programming languages and be willing to learn new languages as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both unsupervised, and with others in a team.
- A good approach to systematic problem solving.
- A Commitment to delivering quality results.
- A desire to learn new skills and technologies and share knowledge with the rest of the team.
